Scott Furlong

Scott joined the Queensland Police Service in 1999 and served for twenty years, eighteen of those as a Detective, rising to the rank of Detective Senior Sergeant. His postings included the Homicide Investigation Unit, the Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Taskforce, the Organised Crime Division of the Crime and Corruption Commission, and Officer in Charge of a regional Criminal Investigation Branch — responsible for several complex major investigations.
Since leaving the QPS, Scott has served as a Senior Advisor (Investigations) within a Queensland Government department’s Professional Standards Unit, leading workplace investigations into bullying, harassment, internal fraud and Code of Conduct breaches. In the private sector, he conducts WorkCover and insurance investigations on behalf of both claimants and respondents, with a focus on factual accuracy and procedural integrity.
He is a passionate advocate for victims of crime, having served as General Board Member, Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the Queensland Homicide Victims’ Support Group. Since leaving the Queensland Police Service, Scott Furlong has brought his extensive experience in law enforcement to both the public and private sectors.
